We know that you all love DO aka Doh Kyungsoo. Everyone adores him, not just fans and EXO members. DO is not an idol who collects fans, but an idol who collects admirers and people who really love and support him. Let's find out why and who loves DO.
People around Doh Kyungsoo fall for him, not because he is a handsome young idol. They fall for him because he is a respectable, polite young man. He takes care of the people around him whenever and wherever he is. We've seen how concerned he is about whether the staff has eaten, whether they're cold, and whether they're comfortable. Remember the EXO ladder? When the production was going on, Kyungsoo went around the filming set feeding the production crew. He has made it a point to ensure that the staff has their meals since the beginning of the program. He emphasized that filming should stop and the crew should have their meals. Have you seen any other celebrity do this?
In EXO Ladder 2, Kyungsoo showed his culinary skills and made a dish for all the members. He didn’t stop feeding his band mates but took an extra step to feed the staff as well. And the best part is that he not only shares what he cooks but also shares what his fellow band members cook as well. When Kai made pork belly in EXO ladder 3, it was so good that Kyungsoo started sharing it with the staff. Kyungsoo’s motto is that food is more important than work. The way he treats all staff members like family and cares for them deeply makes them care for him in the same way. This angel cares for people who work hard to make him famous. When asked what he would do if he had a magic wand? Kyungsoo replied, "People who are close to me might get sick or injured. If I had a magic wand, it would be nice to be able to just send all the sickness and injuries away".
This might sound bad, but the truth is that some idols are so fake that they have undergone all kinds of surgeries to make them fit the K-pop idol image. But look at baby Doh Kyungsoo; this face has not changed a bit. When DO’s photo was posted under an online community thread titled "Photos of Idols as Children.", netizens were so amazed that they exclaimed, "Pure Do Kyungsoo. It seems he was destined for stardom."
Is it just baby DO who is adorable? What about baldy DO? I bet DO won many hearts simply by having a bald head. Most idols dye their heads various colors, maybe because that’s the trend in K-pop or maybe because their companies force them to. However, DO is an exception. This man has had a bald head ever since he rose to fame, and there is no point in coloring it. Also, the only color that his hair has taken except black is brown. Some fans of K-pop, and specifically Dandanies, have stated that one of the reasons they hated K-pop earlier was the unusual hair colors the idols used. But then there is DO, who has never colored his hair. Most Asian fans fell for DO because he maintained the perfect masculine yet cute vibe throughout his career.
Have you seen the clueless DO? EXO is a brotherly group, but it is also one of the most chaotic. When they are together, they are not bothered by roasting each other. And DO almost always become the target. When all the EXO members are goofing around, DO maintains his seriousness. It is simply because he is serious about what he does. But the members around him simply drive him nuts. Then there's the savage DO. Anything around DO can turn into a weapon when he is mad. He is not worried about the camera when he has to raise his hand against someone. I wonder whether he would be able to survive if not for his savagery among Chanyeol, Beakhyun, and others as well. DO's rage can be directed at anyone, not just EXO members. He is no man's fool. When EXO just debuted, during a concert, the MC asked, "How can DO demonstrate that he is the main vocalist?" It is indeed a dumb question, and DO’s answer is pretty savage. DO answered, "You will know it after you listen to the songs in our album.".
We fall for DO, because we sympathize with him. EXO-Ls are pretty much aware of what an annoyance Chanyeol is. It’s pure friendship and brotherly love, and as the outcome, we see Tom and Jerry in every EXO concert. Chanyeol cannot control himself, so he ends up poking DO whenever he is on stage, and poor DO, who is always calm and quiet, has to react to Chanyeol’s antics. Finally, Chanyeol is struck as DO's patience wears thin. Not only Chanyeol, but the whole group of EXO is so chaotic, and DO is the only member who is always calm as the deep sea. And it is funny that you feel sorry for the fellow surrounded by these dorks.
However, EXO loves DO, and EXO members’ families love DO. As Chanyeol once said, "My whole family are D.O.’s fans. My mom went to his movie stage greeting and gave him a flower bouquet. I sang at my sister’s wedding, but even she asked why D.O. didn’t sing." When Kai was asked, who his mother likes from EXO aside from him, the answer was "D.O. because of his dramas."
We have talked about what a phenomenal actor Kyungsoo is. So if you haven’t watched the video, please check it out. Let’s check on DO the singer. DO debuted as the main vocalist of EXO, simply because of the soothing effect of his voice. He has a vocal range of ( F2 ~ F#5 ) 3 octaves and 1 semitone and the warm voice goes well with slow healing songs. And one of the best examples of such a combination is ‘That’s okay’, the song DO release on the day he enlisted for mandatory military service. And because the song was so good for the queen of K-pop, IU immediately covered it. You should definitely checkout his solo album and his covers of ‘Billionaire’ and ‘Love yourself’.
EXO's dance line consists of Kai, Lay, and Sehun. However, if you look at EXO's debut videos, you will notice that DO was also a member of the Dance line. His movements are so fluid, so smooth, and so on point. And it is so good to watch him dance. And we saw his incredible dance moves in Swing Kids. The director could not stop praising DO, as he explained, "Doh Kyungsoo started out practicing later than the other actors in the film, but he is a true professional when it comes to dancing. He was the best out of all the cast members". Swing Kids' original plan was for professional dancers to do the dancing, with their legs edited over D.O.'s character. But this did not happen because DO was so good that there wasn’t any need for other dancers. Time passed, and DO was so busy with more acting gigs that we started missing his swift moves a little.
Finally, who doesn’t like a handsome man who can cook? DO is so enthusiastic about cooking that he ended up on the kitchen staff even while serving in the military. He took the Korean Cooking Skill Certificate or the culinary licensure exam somewhere around 2018 or 2019 before military enlistment.
